Hi @Tania I’m sorry, I feel your frustration. I think it took about 9 months for me to get a formal diagnosis through a process of elimination. Although it felt much longer!

I was deperate to start medication but couldn’t until they had ruled out enough potential causes of my tremor. The meds they might prescribe for one condition could have made things worse if it turned out that I actually had something else. Hence their reluctance.

Don’t give up! Keep the conversation going with your consultant, keep asking “What next?” and “What now?” and let your GP know how the uncertainty is affecting you.

It can be a horribly frustrating process, so it’s normal to feel horribly frustrated!

Hi Tania, Ive read your posting a few times and it seems to me that you’re feeding your insecurities with worry, like a giant monster with the stress of it all. Why have you worried yourself sick? If the diagnosis is correct, it doesn’t have to be seen as an end to your every day life as there are modern treatments that work and for some people, work well. These, along with other ways to help you cope, may help you enormously. What you are doing is continually reenforcing your negative thoughts. I know a person who can help you through this. Let me just say that again … I know a person who can help you through this. She exists and is real, you just have to ask her for help. After all, she has such power, far more than the worry and stress that plague you. Do you know who that person is? It’s you! The power exists, in your mind, to help you cope with all this. All you have to do is build new bridges, positive ones. I was diagnosed with YOPD in 2005, 20 years ago. I learned that with the right thinking, you will be able to cope with the stress you mention. I always go out of my way to tell PWP about the benefits of reenforcing thoughts and the power of visualisation. The moderators must think I’m on commission but Im not, I just know that what I recommend works for me and for the people I recommend it to. I found, about a decade ago, a guy called Lee Pulos. He was just a psychologist, I think, who released some self help tracks which help you train your mind and therefore your body. Ok, for all those who may question this, let me ask you this. Can thoughts, from the mind affect the body? What about worry, stress? They both affect the immune system by depleting the energy of the organs, especially the kidneys. So by this theory, the opposite may occur. Firstly, I would recommend that you do a Google search for Dr. Lee Pulos in the US (now deceased). His site is still active. Listen to the stress tracks every day. Secondly, do what you are used to doing, to the point were you are increasingly coping in your every day tasks. In other words, try and keep up what you do or used to do, daily. Thirdly, the Power of Visualisation! Einstein used this every day of his life. In fact, I believe he used it to find the answers to his problems. OK, what I am trying to reinforce, is that there is a power in all of us, including you that can help us and provide answers to what we seek. If you continually think about the negatives, all you are doing is supplying energy to the negative force. Positive thinking can achieve so much more. Tania, I sincerely hope that you find your way back onto the path you travel. I know what I have told you works in more ways than you could ever imagine. I wish you well and will be passing my healing thoughts onto you. Tania, please remember that your journey begins with a single step. I wish you all the luck in the world and may you find what you seek.

Dave.

Hi Tania, further to my reply to your posting ‘Give Up’, I would like you to see the picture of an ear showing 2 particular points. Tne 2 points in question, when massaged, will help with the stress and the anxiety.
