Hallucinations, Delusions, Vision problems- Pipexus?

Hello
My mum is currently in hospital with a broken knee and leg in a plastercast.

She is 78 and has had Parkinsons for almost 17 years.

She currently has lots of Delusions and Hallucinations and her vision is really bad at the moment. I know this because I was trying to do an easy cross stitch with her with a huge plastic needle so I could see how far off the aim she was when she was trying to grab the needle. About 20 cm off the mark. She has said that she has double vision.

I am waiting to see mum’s Parkinsons specialist to address some of my concerns but…in the meantime, could it be her medication that is contributing to things being especially bad or hospital delirium?

I just think the problems with vision can’t be helping the situation? She is on Pipexus. Not sure how long she has been on this brand.

Thank you in advance

Hi @HavanaS,

So sorry to hear this, this must be an awful time for you and your mum. I can see that you’ve already commented on similar thread (Delirium after admission to hospital) where other people have shared a similar issue. I’d definitely raise your concerns with your mum’s specialist because as you’ve suspected, it may be linked to her medication.

Of course, you can always give our helpline a call and speak to our advisers who have a lot of knowledge and experience on hallucinations and delusions so do give us a call on 0808 800 0303. Lastly we have a lot of useful information on our website on hallucinations and delusions which you can find here - https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/information-and-support/hallucinations-and-delusions-symptom.

I hope you find this information useful.

Best wishes,
Reah
