I am Cathy and I was diagnosed last Wednesday
Welcome to the forum, Cathy
We understand how difficult it is to come to terms with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s, but you’ll find a lot of helpful info on our website, as well as, no doubt, some great support here on the forum.
We also have a ‘newly diagnosed’ page on our website that has a lot of information about our support service and local groups which may be helpful to you. You can find more info on this here - Newly diagnosed with Parkinson's | Parkinson's UK
I’m sure other members will jump in to welcome you. Meanwhile, I’d encourage you to look around and see what you discover.
Best wishes,
Zofia

Hello Cathy … If you have any questions do ask.
I’m a single man aged 71 & was diagnosed with Atypical Parkinson’s following a positive datscan in June 2023. Not a great illness to have but I’ve got used to it.
I take 6 Co-careldopa pills a day & 1 Rasagiline pill a day.
I manage quite well.
Best wishes

Hello Cathy
I was diagnosed on 17th January this year and I take 3 Co-careldopa per day & my symptoms are reasonably mild. Main issue is with a heavy right leg.

Hi Cathy,
I’ve recently been diagnosed and am using this forum a lot, people on here really understand what it’s like and the more you use it you will hopefully find that you can talk about anything, share your feelings and even let us know what your advice for others would be.
I’m currently really enjoying using the forum’s social posts and people sharing jokes and favourite songs.
Best wishes
Dawn
