Hi there. I was diagnosed in October this year and am tip-toeing my way into finding out more about the condition (instead of trying to deny that I have it.)
I just wondered if there are resources out there that members of this forum have found useful? I’ve started listening to the Movers and Shakers podcast which is quite enjoyable - if that’s the right word - and informative. But are there other resources, Facebook pages, books, other podcasts, blogs that people have found useful?
Hi @Jim8888, we’ll let other forum users take this over with their tips, but let us start you off with our booklets and resources page on our website: all free to order: Booklets and resources | Parkinson's UK
We’d love to hear what other resources people are finding helpful!
Thanks for starting this thread Jim welcome and well done for facing it head on. The Michael J. Fox Foundation website and their podcast When The Fox Says are both brilliant and Ive also found Brian Grants Victory Over Parkinsons YouTube series really uplifting
Thanks menamton, I will check those out. I’ve listened to quite a few episodes of the Movers and Shakers podcast now which I’ve found helpful, but a wee bit daunting too - if Jeremy Paxman can only see his consultant once a year, what hope for the rest of us? They do seem to have some influential people on, so maybe there will be hope for the rest of us if they keep up the pressure.
