I’ll health retirement taking ages

It’s nearly been a year.

Filed all the paperwork filled in all the forms giving permission etc.. from specialists.

Parkinson’s Nurse still has not done report, I mentioned it at the start of the year and was assured they were on to it and it will be done but still nothing..

I’m at a loss, work bug me to get on to them, no response from PD dept. It’s affecting my mental health so I went DRs who said work should not be asking me to push for the information..

I seem to be in a loop.

Okay finally all sorted and ill health retirement tier one was the outcome which work didn’t(couldn’t ) contest.

this means

Tier 1

You qualify for Tier 1 if you are unlikely to be capable of gainful employment before your Normal Pension Age. The ill health benefits you would receive are:

  • the pension you have already built up on your date of leaving

  • no reduction for early payment

  • plus the pension you would have built up in the main section of the LGPS from your leaving date to your Normal Pension Age.

A Tier 1 pension is paid for the rest of your life. The increase to your pension under Tier 1 is based on your Assumed Pensionable Pay. You can find out more about Assumed Pensionable Pay in the next section.

so being 54 years old knowing my pension will be paid up til 67 is a huge weight off.

final payslip had a nice surprise too, I knew I was due and owed some wages but happy bunny with the amount…

I’d give it all back if I could work but I tried and tried… 5 days to 3, 3 days to 2.. lighter duties but failed every time..

Having read all these forums, I can’t help concluding that there are a lot of fakes claiming to have Parkinson’s. I suppose you qualifies them to obtain various privileges, pension advantages Etc.

There’s a guy on YouTube who claims to have Parkinson’s for 15 years but looks healthy enough and he has his own show. Presumably he gets Commission for advertisers who takes space during his show.

Anyone have information on this?

Hi Nigel27

I understand what you’re saying about some people not looking like they have Parkinson’s that sounds like my husband at times.

For instance last night he came in from work and I immediately knew he had had a bad day. His tremor was terrible, he looked grey, he hardly wanted to talk, he could barely eat his tea from the fatigue.

He had a sleep then went to his strength training class, upon his return he had no tremor he looked bright and lifted, you would not know he had Parkinson’s.

I think with some Parkinson’s people there’s a huge difference between on and off and this person you are referring to may just time his shows when he’s on, who knows, why

would you pretend to have this awful condition.

Best wishes to you all

Minty
