I’m finding it difficult getting into the car front passenger seat because I cannot lift my right leg very far. Any ideas
Morning Redkite … Either buy a new car which suits you or get physio on your knee.
I still drive & have trouble getting into & out of my car. No fun is it?
Best wishes

Hi Redkite
Same here, although it’s easier in some cars than others. I find that if I know in advance I am getting into a car that it helps a little to do some stretching and warming up exercises to help me lift my leg in. I find some vehicles impossible, others a little easier. I also use a step, which is low and means less of a hike up. You can get modifications made with a running board or step that is welded onto the vehicle too, if it is your own.
I don’t know about you, but I find it almost impossible to get into a back seat of any vehicle. Good luck, hope you find a viable solution soon.
Hello Redkite - have you tried a leg lifter? It’s cheap and cheerful but may solve your problem. Also a turntable on the seat may help, if you have trouble getting onto the car
seat.

Thank you Tot, the leg raiser is a great help as long as I can slide my foot in.
I may have to resort to a step but my husband will have to retrieve it of course.
It doesn’t help being only 5ft![]()
