I am on a slow release half-sinemet drug for the night. However if I wake after 3.30pm my tremor stops me from sleeping. Is there a quick 'hit ’ that I can use to get me to sleep again?
Many thanks
Matthew
Hi Matthew, do you take any other medication before you go to bed that would stop you from sleeping through. You should contact your Parkinson’s Nurse and let them know, who will then speak to the Consultant to see if the medication you take for your Parkinson’s needs to be tweaked a bit, it is all hit and miss at the beginning but eventually they will find the right doses for you, I hope this helps you.
That sounds really tough Matthew. Sadly we’re not able to recommend specific medication changes here, as everyone’s needs are different. It would be best to speak with your consultant, GP or Parkinson’s nurse who can look at your medication timings and suggest safe options that might help. If you’d like to talk things through in the meantime, our helpline is here on 0808 800 0303.
Take care.
