Interferon

apologies if this has been posted before.

“Namely, that infection or other factors that cause certain type of brain inflammation and high levels of interferon gamma can predispose one to Parkinsonism or even cause it outright.”

Hi have just read the article on interfon you posted, through a link to that I read an article about the possibility of ibuprofen preventing Parkinson's, I wonder if that means it would be a good idea to take this?

hi v
i am very confused - interferon works a bit for MS but too much interferon has been associated with pd but also too little.
perhaps someone can explain???

interferon 'intereferes' with viruses. there seems to be a suggestion that an infection in the body causes too much in the brain and that paradoxically people with low interferon end up with too much in the SN.

help!
