Is this Parkinson's

I am a 62 yr oldd male.
In 2013 i experienced end stage liver failure. In an induced coma for 8 days but somehow survived.
I have now been teetotal for nearly 12 years.
Late lastt year i experienced finger tremors in my left hand fatigue unable to write speech and balance issues.
Went for a brain mri which showed no acute abnormalities.
No follow-up arranged by my GP
Recently started to experience other issues including body tremors shortness of breath nausea leg cramps and muscle wasting in hands.
Can this be Parkinson’s or is it more likely to be another neurological condition

Hello DM1 … A brain Mri scan is not used to diagnose Parkinson’s disease.
I have Parkinson’s Disease, I also had a brain Mri scan which was clear like yours.
My Parkinson’s Disease was diagnosed my my having a positive Datscan, this measures the Dopamine in your brain. Brain Mri scans are used to rule out more serious illnesses.

You really need to ask your GP to refer you to see a Neurologist. So that
you can get a correct diagnosis.

From what you describe you may have Parkinson’s or it may be something else.

Make sure you eat healthily & try & drink less if this is an issue for you. It might be quite a while before you get to see a neurologist if my experience is anything to go by.

Parkinson’s symptoms are only treated by Parkinson’s medication like Madopar or Sinemet. There is no cure.

Best wishes

Hello DM1,

As Steve has helpfully stated, you will need to have your doctor connect you with a neurologist for further study. Parkinson’s affects every individual differently and it is one of the most difficult conditions to diagnose due to the fact that it shares symptoms with numerous other illnesses.
