Joint pain

I was diagnosed with parkinsons Oct 2019 & I’m taking Madopar which has helped with the tremor on the left arm and hand however there is some days im in agony with joint pain the problem is I’m a female approaching the menopause & i dont know if this is joint pain due to menopause or the Parkinsons
Just wondering if anyone has had similar symptoms and any suggestions?

Hi @Lorna1,

I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve been experiencing pain, unfortunately, this is quite common for people with Parkinson’s. However, painkillers and regular exercise should help with this. You may also find physiotherapy useful. We have more information on this via our website here - https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/information-and-support/pain

I hope this information helps.

Best wishes,
Reah

I switched to a mostly plant-based diet and many of my aches and pains disappeared. Many people seem to get a benefit from at least giving up dairy (yes, this includes cheese!).
