Landline phones for PwP

Hi, wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a landline phone. Family member with late-stage Parkinson’s now sadly has no ability with technology (so smartphone no good) and we therefore need a robust landline with large numbers and very limited menus. Have tried basic BT ones but they are so flimsy and cheaply made.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi @Nuno64, thank you for sharing this important question here.

While we can’t recommend specific brands, it may be helpful to look for corded landline phones with large buttons, minimal menus, and one-touch dial options.

There are even photo-dial phones available, where pressing a picture calls a family member directly, which reduces the need to navigate menus.

We found that Alzheimer’s UK has some examples of what these would look like: Telephones - Alzheimer's Society

If any other member of this forum has experience of these types of phones, we encourage them to post what worked for them too.

Sending our warmest wishes

Hi Nuno64,

The only thing I can suggest is if you find one of the origional mobile phones, that ae bigger and all they can do is make and receive phone calls.

One issue to check if going to get an old original mobile phone is to make sure that it runs on 4g or 5g, 3g has been turned off on some networks and will be turned off on more networks as move towards end on 2026

Hello nuno64

Might something like this fit the bill

Tot
