Hi just looking for a bit of advice.
I was diagnosed a couple of yrs ago and started on rasigiline - then after approx 1 yr madopar was introduced these worked fine but at my last consultant appt I was changed from madopar to sinemet to see which was better for me … my legs feel less achey / restless on this but my head feels a bit fuzzier … is this normal ? I’ve been on these for about 2 months now - should I give it longer to see if settles ? Or should I change back ? Any feedback would be great thank you
Hi @Madwife5676, it’s good to see you posting again but I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing some troubling medication side effects. Have you spoken to your GP or Parkinson’s nurse about this? I’m sure that other members will have feedback about their own experiences, but do hope you can check in with your healthcare provider so that they can suggest the next course of action for you. Don’t forget you can call our helpline where our Parkinson’s local advisers can answer any questions you have about Parkinson’s. Call us on 0808 800 0303.

@Madwife5676 this could be me speaking about 4 years ago but it was the other way around Sinemet good, Madopar not so good for me. After about 2 weeks I contacted my neurologist was ask to keep going for another 2 weeks and then we would talk again. At that appointment he switched straight back on to Sinemet and specified on prescription it was to be MSD Sinemet and not an alternative generic Sinemet.
I would certainly consider in my honest opinion that you contact either your PD nurse or consultant to discuss. As PD is different for each of us, so is our response to medications
