Hello I believe my dad was misdiagnosed. he was diagnosed 19 years ago( he’s now 85) and the doctor said his slight hand tremor would never get worse. That seems unusual. It has not really gotten worse and his walking has remained the same except that he fell three years ago and now can’t walk. I feel if he was misdiagnosed maybe those meds have taken there toll. Since his fall he also now is cognitively not there. It all changed after fall. I really feel something else is going on but our stepmother will not take any of suggestion. Thanks.
Hello Beau1,
We’re sorry to hear this and thank you for sharing. Our forum members may be able to offer you some peer to peer advice, but we would highly recommend potentially having a conversation with your fathers healthcare provider and asking the question.
All the best,

Good morning Beau1 … I am 71 years old & was diagnosed with Atypical Parkinson’s in June 2023 following a positive datscan. About 4 weeks ago I saw a different neurologist specialising in Parkinson’s who thinks my June 2023 datscan was normal.
So I am no longer taking my Parkinson’s medication as a trial to see if it makes any difference.
There is a worrying amount of guesswork with a Parkinson’s diagnosis and its treatment.
Best wishes
Steve2
