my name is darren i was diagnosed with pd 8 yrs ago age 45 my brother had pd and i think one of my cousins had it im still very mobile at first i wanted to bury my head in the sand and would go to meetings with the specialist and the pd nurse and say have they found a cure yet well dont bother till then i was angry but now i realise i want to help find a cure i was told with pd people either become gamblers or sex addicts well ive never placed a bet but find im thinking bout sex most of the time i dont think im alone in this anyone offer any advice thanks i have other pd symptoms but this is the main one

Hypersexuality is a type of impulsive and compulsive behaviour which is a common side affect to different types of Parkinson’s medication, particularly Levodopa so you’re definitely not alone on this. You can find more information on the Parkinson’s UK website here.
