My Neurologist has refered me for Neuro physiotherapy, has anyone experienced this and is there any benefits
Hello Metaldad … Yes I have had a course of 6 x 1 hour neuro-physiotherapy sessions in a gym at my local hospital. There were 2 of us & there was one Parkinson’s trained physiotherapist & a “volunteer”.
Before the course I was given 50 “tests / tasks” & found out what I could & couldn’t do. I think I scored 26/50. After the 6 hour course had finished I was tested again & my score was higher. I was also given some exercises to do at home & some lifestyle tips.
Very worthwhile.
Any questions please ask.
Best wishes

I found Neuro physio very helpful, especially initially, though long term benefits are small. Nothing to do with the exercises just my PD is progressing quite rapidly and I’ve a number of other chronic conditions. The staff were brilliant, very empathetic and knowledgeable. They tailored the exercises to my needs. If I couldn’t manage what I was being shown they broke it down to smaller components. I found being in the system and seeing someone regularly very helpful. I would encourage that you take advantage of any help being offered. Good luck.
