How often do you see your neurologist?
Allegedly every six months but currently been waiting ten months.
Hello Nev1 … I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in June 2023. I saw my neurologist three times in total. All three rimes in the first three months then nothing since. He left the NHS nine months ago. I have not seen anyone since other than my Parkinson’s nurse.
Best wishes

Hello Nev1 welcome I think it makes a difference where you live I go to QMC in Nottingham we have 4 PD nurse’s and i see one every 6 months on the 3rd or 4th visit I see the neurologist.
Unfortunately, the issue about length of time to see PD medical professionals appears to me to be a postcode lottery. I think I’m one of the lucky ones. I live in Scotland. I see my PD Nurse and/or my Neurologist every 3 months. Sometimes just the Nurse, other times I see both of them together. Plus, my PD Nurse is available anytime by phone whereby I can leave a brief message and she gets back to me.
I do know from an article I read and posted on here, there is a severe shortage of PD medical professionals in the UK, in particular PD nurses, due to retirement etc. and lack of recruitment into this specialist field.
Cheers
