Sytra Your symptoms do sound like PD but please don't freak out it really is not all doom & gloom but often or not it is done by a neuro who recognises the symptoms. .
A Dat scan can confirm this but they are not always available in every hospital my neuro dx me within 10 min of our consultation. The best advice I will give you is take the meds & don't get all stressed out it make you symptoms worse.
Kiuo please make an appointment with a new GP yours is a fool there is common knowledge that PD affects all ages I was dx at 47 and i know people who have been dx even as young as 40 their is also teenage onset PD and Michael J Fox was dx at 29. And the youngest person ever dx was 8 now that is extremely rare BUT it does happen. I know this and I am a just a factory worker so you see why I say your is a fool if you have to see this moron again INSIST your husband gets referred. It's you right as you pay your taxes so the GP works for you. If by chance you happen to live near Lincoln ask to be referred to Prof Sharma he is my PD specialist and he is a expert in PD and based at LINCOLN COUNTY NHS. None of this private maralky we pay for this via our NI contributions.
Let me know how you both get on we can support each other through what I call the B**** i use that because i will not let this B**** win.
I couldn't agree more with your analysis of my husbands GP. He us a very nice man but how ridiculous saying that 43 is too young for PD. A lot of people may accept this and not push it (my husband being one) but a friend of my mums was diagnosed with early onset pd about 40 years ago so I am more than aware it happens. Do you know I was really annoyed, my husband was signed off sick because he was really depressed and he has had terrible sleep disturbance so we have mortgage insurance and I took the claim form for the GP to complete and it was at this time he made the comments about my husband being too young and I thought he thinks that my husband is a "get on".
The current situation is that we have paid to see a nuero at our local bupa hospital and he has said that he isn't sure as the tremor is very irregular. I know that we shouldn't have to do this but based on the gps referral we were going to have to wait 4 months for the appointment thru Nhs and this was driving me nuts! The nuero said that he is referring my husband back to the Nhs for Datscan and we are waiting for the appointment.
My husband remains quite positive under the cirumstances, he is a driver by trade and a positive diagnosis may cost him his job but he has two friends aged under 50 who have been diagnosed with cancer in the last couple of months so we try to keep it in perspective after all we have each other and we intend to celebrate 20th anniversary later this year.
Thanks for your support, I am sure that I will be needing advice and guidance over the next few months, on a lighter note I love the choker on you'd photo so much that I went and bought a similar one yesterday!
