Hi there
I’m Trefor aged 66 diagnosed last year by the movement disorder specialist. No meds given nd sent for brain scan and bone density scan. Chased him up for the results and got a brief letter back 3 months after the scan telling me not much apart from it showed that i had suffered a stroke on the left side of the brain which was strange as my left side is the weak side. Its never really got much worse and the Levadopa the specialist nurse prescribed makes no difference. I do wonder if someone misread the brain scan sometimes. I have also been type 1 diabetic for 33 years so I don’t need all this extra grief. Ordered some CBD oil to see if it helps my symptoms without having to worry about the long term side effects of Levadopa. I’ll keep you posted.
Hi @trefor,
A warm welcome to the forum.
If you find that your medication isn’t being effective, you should probably raise this with you GP and/or specialist as they may need to look into this and make some necessary changes. I’m sure you’ll receive some great advice from our members, but you may find it useful to contact our helpline in the interim. We have a team of highly trained advisers with extensive knowledge on medication for Parkinson’s so I’m sure they can offer you more help and information on this.
You can reach us on 0808 800 0303 Monday-Friday: 9am-7pm, Saturday: 10am-2pm or email them at [email protected].
Hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Reah
