I have recently been diagnosed with PD.
Just getting used to the symptoms.
The one I’m struggling with is turning over in bed, its like my body has forgotten how to do it.
Is this something that will improve with medication or physio
Thanks

Good sleep is important for everyone. Turning in bed, as well getting in and out, is something that many people with Parkinson’s find a challenge. There are tips on this, including using satin sheets, here: Equipment for getting in and out of bed | Parkinson's UK You may find something there that piques your interest.

Satin sheets every time for me - really helpful. Also try associating each movement you are trying to make with a pleasurable memory, song lyric or action etc. So maybe you imagine roly-polying down a grassy bank; or maybe you are Murdoch from the A-Team doing a stunt safety roll; or maybe you sing The Byrds’ “To everything, turn, turn, turn”! Whatever crazy, creative and pleasurable association works for you…
Thanks for advice. Will give it a try
Hi!
My husband has the same problem
Two things helped, a metal bar thing at the side of the bed to hold on to (Occupational health can provide) and…

I got a satiny sheet but we haven’t tried it yet.
These ideas.from the person who responded earlier look great.
Thank you Simon - these are great ideas!
Occupational health provided me the metal bed bar and satin sheets which were a revolution for me!
