Hi, I was diagnosed in June and put on Sinemet plus 25mg then after a month 12.5 Sinemet as well. Had problems with feeling nauseous was advised to eat snack with tablets which helped for a while, but have found over last few weeks nausea much worse, also becoming constipated and feeling even more tired than I normally do. Also just started gagging after taking 1st dose of the day. Rang my Parkinson’s nurse who I’ve never seen or spoken to, her recorded message says she will contact me within 7 days and not to leave another message until after 7 days. I know I should have done something about my problems earlier but thought I could soldier on. I’ve got my hospital appt next week but concerned about the gagging after taking morning tablets, not sure about not taking them, but am tempted to see if it helps. Anyone got any advice or suggestions.
You could make contact with your GP practice, there are some sickness tablets that are safe in Parkinsons and they can give you medical advice. Sounds like you need that appointment next week. Also ParkinonsUK has a help line you could try for advice.
sorry I can’t help more

Hello Roy … I take Sinemet & tolerate it very well. No nausea for me.
I take 2 Sinemet pills 3 times a day [6 pills].
Best wishes

I am newly diagnosed and take 6 x 50mg of Co-careldopa (= Sinemet), I have never felt sick. They are working well, maybe speak with your GP? I was told that there are some anti sickness pills I could take if needed. Fagus
