Hi guys,
After a welfare catch up with my hr , it been decided to have a occupational health assessment , I agreed to one , as I feel they don’t understand Parkinson’s.
Can anyone tell me there experience of this ? Was it good , did it help? Was it bad, resulting in dismissal?
Did you’re employer have a better understanding?
Thanks
Hi @suemac
Occupational Health is a good thing that enables you and your employer to document a formal record of your condition and any special requirements, e.g. the need for any workplace adjustments or a flexible working arrangement.
However, the OH person is a generalist so you will need to tell them about your condition and what you need etc.
Hope that makes sense. In my experience, employers are keen to help and OH is part of this. I worked for 5 years after having a OH assessment.
