Overheating

wake at night very hot as my sinemet wears off?

Hello Grober … I’m on Sinemet I wouldn’t say I overheat. But I do get very dehydrated, not sure if this is Sinemet induced.

Also Sinemet has given me sleep issues.

Best wishes

Possibly not the Sinemet, as I regularly wake up due to overheating and I’m not on Sinemet.

Neither my consultant or my PD nurse know what’s causing it.

hi, I have exactly the same issues with waking up absolutely roasting! I am on sinemet and previously modapor.

Thanks For all the replies. Still suffering the same symptoms only more so to the extent that I need to be sponged down to cool down several times in the night. This heating effect is a lesser well-known symptom associated with Parkinson’s disease. Evidently associated with the brain’s hypothalamus which regulates Internal body temperature from internal and surface temperature sensing neural sensors.I assume a lack of levadopa results in confused feedback signals to the brain?

Overheating is mainly caused by disregulation of the autonomic nervous system. Some of medications can impair the bodies ability to cool down during off periods I believe.
