Hi Dave3, thanks for reaching out.

We’d recommend reaching out to your healthcare professional for advice and support as they can make recommendations to help you.

We hope other members of the community can share their experiences with you to help.

Best wishes

I guess the reason I,m asking is because I have read that breathing can become difficult in the later stages of pd . I have had pd for about 2 years now . Another concern I have is that I also have osteophorosis [brittle bone} and dread having falls. My main concern is that I may not be able to look after my wife if she should need me.

Hi @Dave3, thanks for sharing your note. It’s understandable that reading about later stages can raise a lot of worries. Fears about falls and about being there for your wife are certainly very valid too.

You’re not alone in having these thoughts, and others here may relate and share how they’ve approached similar concerns over time.

Regarding breathing, we have this page on lung health which may be useful to you: Lung health and Parkinson's | Parkinson's UK

And please remember our helpline is always here for you if you’d like to chat things through. We’re just a phone call away on freephone 0808 800 0303.

Sending you our warmest wishes
