I wonder if anyone else here is waiting for a knee replacement. I’m in considerable pain from osteoarthritis and I find it aggravates the stiffness resulting from the Parkinson’s. Has anyone had knee surgery and if so how did it affect the Parkinson’s? One thing I will say,at least Parkinson’s doesn’t bring with it agonising pain.
Hi @Carlotta, it sounds like you’re dealing with a lot. Living with both Parkinson’s disease and osteoarthritis can be difficult, and pain from a knee that needs replacing can make stiffness and mobility issues feel harder.
Experiences can vary, so it may help to hear from others here who’ve been through it. We encourage anyone with experiences like yours to post in reply to your message.

@Carlotta I’ve got osteoarthritis in my left knee and in my left hip, Parkinson’s also mainly affect my left side as well, not sure if there is any link or not. My hip is worse than my knee and GP has already said it will need replacing at some point but at moment dealing with by taking Co-codamol (when available as there is a shortage at moment).
