Hi @Helen8, and a very warm welcome to the forum.
Thank you very much for sharing. Living and caring for someone with Parkinson’s can be incredibly tough, and you’re not alone in feeling this way. There are lots of people here who will understand and are going through similar things.
If at any point you’re looking for more support alongside the forum, our website has a wealth of information and advice for both people with Parkinson’s and those caring for someone.
And the free and confidential helpline is always there if you’d like to talk things through with someone - 0808 800 0303. Our trained experts and specialist nurses are on hand anytime between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and 10am and 1pm on Saturdays.
Sending our love to you and your husband ![]()
Parkinson’s UK Moderation Team
Hello Helen8 and welcome to the forum.
Candice one of the forum moderators has given you some useful starting points. However you have not said much about your circumstances or if you have any particular issues at the moment (that is not a criticism you are perfectly entitled to post as much or as little information as you want) so for now I will just say the forum is here if you have any questions , just want a rant and anything in between. There is a wealth of experience and knowledge from both people woth Parkinsons and people like yourself who have some connection with it, which you can tap into if you need. No-one need feel on their own, generally there is someone on the forum who can help or at least understand and offer support.
Wishing you well. Tot
PS Don’t forget your voice is as important as anyone else’s on the forum so when you feel ready (and the first time can seem a littke daunting) feel free to chip in with a reply to a post that resonates with you.
Hi Helen8,
Firstly welcome to the forum.
And yes, we do understand how it affects both of you.
It is not a ‘welcome’ disease.
The way we can help is if you can give a bit more info on your husband, how old is he, when was he diagnosed, what symptoms do you see.
Once we know that I have no doubt many on the forum can give advice.
And please ask questions, that is really the best way we can try to help.
