hi
My wife was diagnosed a few years ago and i have been on a journey to find alternative methods of therapy to help her.
I discovered PEMF therapy which has been studied in many american studies and shown to help patients improve their mobility reaction times tremors etc.
I have been so convinced by the scientific results that I reseached and have purchased a low intensity PEMF mat from a reputable company. My wifes tremors have improved dramatically since using the mat, disappearing completely or vastly reducing. Her reactions and coordination has also improved.
I have not read many references on parkinson.org to people using this therapy and cannot understand why, having seen its positive effects.
I would be interested to know of others who are using it to compare notes of intensity levels and times of use etc

Hi Mike,
It’s great to hear that you’ve found something that seems to be helping your wife’s symptoms.
As you mentioned, research around PEMF therapy in Parkinson’s is still developing, and many people may not have shared their experiences as openly yet. It is not currently a mainstream NHS treatment for Parkinson’s in the UK. If you’re looking for more information on treatments, symptom management, or just general support, don’t hesitate to reach out to our helpline at 0808 800 0303. You can also explore other therapies and approaches on our website: Complementary therapies | Parkinson's UK
Wishing you both continued strength on your journey.

hi BenWSAF
thanks for the welcome.
I find it somewhat confusing that parkinsons.org has become an advocate for and thrown their weight behind the “beech band” when there is no scientific studies or proof surrounding it. It also is not yet NHS mainstream.
Yet PEMF therapy has been proven and shown through many scientific studies to improve the symptoms of people with parkinson’s. Why is there such a discrepancy in approach.
thanks
mike
