PIP / Pension Advice

Hello,

I am about to turn 66 in Feb 2025 and plan to take my state pension as this will be more money than ESA.

I also get PIP, daily living enhanced (14 points) and mobility standard (10 points). I read somewhere that once you reach retirement age you can’t change the rate PIP is set at. I’ve been thinking for a while that my mobility is very poor compared to last time I was accessed for PIP and would really benefit from being on the enhanced level. I could walk places before whereas I don’t now and even driving is few and far between. Barely leaving the house due to pain and lack of mobility.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? If I wanted to review the mobility part of my PIP how do I do this? Is there a risk that I lose the benefits, I know that’s maybe a silly thing to say but there has been so much chatter in the news about people losing their benefits.

When my LO had a change in circumstances he told the PIP people and they did a reassessment which resulted in an increase in amount he gets. Should point out that he doesn’t have PD ( I have just been diagnosed and we having needed to tell DWP yet).
