We have a very informative page on PIP that you should have a look at. It will answer many of the questions you may have about PIP and will give you a good idea of how it works and what to expect.
To answer your question though, you can claim PIP whether you’re in or out of work. There are a number of criteria to be eligible for PIP (covered in our support page above), but being employed does not disqualify you from claiming PIP.
