Help raising £25,000 to host the inaugural Cure Parkinson’s Cup!
Hello everyone,
The very first Cure Parkinson’s Cup is set to take place on 19 April 2020. Players with Parkinson’s of any ability, age or gender are invited to enter this exciting new tournament which is organised by Sport Parkinson’s CIC.
Sports Parkinson’s is raising awareness of the importance of regular exercise for people with Parkinson’s Disease as part of our “Exercise Matters” campaign. The tournament is held in support of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust (CPT) and their work to fund potentially life-changing research.
The tournament will be hosted by Worcester Warriors Rugby Club at their home ground of Sixways Stadium.
How it works:
On the day each five-a-side team will move through the group stage, where they will play ten-minute matches. This will be followed by a knock-out stage, and eventually a thrilling final to crown the winners of the first ever Cure Parkinson’s Cup.
The tournament is fully inclusive, and organisers are looking for players of all abilities, any degree of Parkinson’s symptoms, any age, any gender, any level of fitness. There will be matches and teams for all footballing abilities. All are welcome!
We are looking to raise £25,000 pounds in total to help cover the staging of the event!
