Every day there are stories about cancer, dementia and Alzheimer's in the media but it seems Parkinsons is the forgotten disease. What can be done to heighten people's awareness of the disease and get politicians to fund more research into it. It's as if sufferers are forgotten

It would certainly be good to see more coverage of Parkinson's and the need to fund relevant services including, of course, more research.
There are loads of things you can do, especially with a general election looming. Have a look at: http://www.parkinsons.org.uk/content/campaign-us for current campaigns and ways that you can get involved. The key ingredient in any campaign is the personal account of people affected by Parkinson's.
There is a lot of coverage of other conditions but I think that is no bad thing for us. Increased focus on Alzheimer's, ALS etc increases the focus on neuro degenerative conditions in general.
