Hello everyone. Ive been reading some archive posts on ropinerole on the forum site tonight. This past two weeks my hwp had drug withdrawn , after being on it 7 years, just at 4mg. It was stopped abruptly due to crisis event and very problematic symtoms. The side effects of this withdrawl have been awful . Has anyone any positive stories on how they coped and stabilised after such an event? As always with PD, the complexities of the medications are immense. Thanks in anticipation.
The reason for withdrawal should be considered, normally a tapered withdrawal would help reduce side effects and careful management, to go cold turkey would not be the best option unless there is a overriding reason ? In my opinion I am not a doctor you need to consult with the medical team
Thank you lar, there was a reason for rapid withdrawl, and im in very close contact with gp and PD nurses, but their follow up on these side effects have been disappointing. Just wondered if anyone elsehad been through such an event. .
