Hello Ann ⦠Do not assume the pain and stiffness you have is Parkinsonās alone.
I too take Sinemet 3 times a day. I also take Amitriptyline which is a brilliant drug that stops all the pain I have. A lot of Parkinsonās sufferers have neuropathy and Arthritis which I do, Amitriptyline is excellent for these sort of pains.
Best wishes

Hello Ann3, you say you were diagnosed in December, in Parkinsonās terms that is no time at all. As you get more used to living with Parkinsonās you will come to understand better what is normal for you, how you react to all sorts of things and you will develop a confidence to manage your symptoms in whatever way you need. That is generally not the case early on and if you are experiencing anything that causes you concern, I would always suggest you contact your Parkinsonās Nurse or consultant for advice. I can understand why you asked about the doses others of us are on but it will, in my opinion, serve little purpose as we are all different even when presenting with very similar symptoms.
I often think getting oneās meds right is a bit of a lottery. Some hit the jackpot at the first attempt. Many do not and have to go through some periods of trial and error before finding what works Maybe you do need to increase what you are taking but it could also be the case youāre on too higher a dose, Sometimes all it takes is a change of brand
If your Consultant and Parkinsonās Nurse are worth their salt they will recognise and understand your concerns. Good Luck and plese do let us know how you are getting on
Thanks Steve
Thanks Tot

Welcome sarah22 please read Tots answer to what Ann asked I think you will find it helpful. There are lots of drugs for PD and once you have found one you notice your changes, but we are all different this is where your PD nurse comes in. So if you canāt get in touch with her then give Parkinson 'UK a ring, On the PD/UK web-site there is also w page with things to help with daily living and leaflets and books. One of the books that they have is all about Parkinsonās medication and how it works what 2 drugs work with each other, and more. Well worth sending for.
Hi Mary have you ever missed eny doses of Ropinirole i thought i had another box but didnt couldnt get for 3 days so missed 3 doses i became unwell and even now i am back taking properly for the very first time i feel i truely have parkinsons my feet ankles legs hands fingers and neck i am inpain with, my mobility is aweful just bending to pick something up is aweful plus much more i know they say it takes awhile to get back like you were just missing a couple of days had the Sinimet but frightening how it gets so quick .Just wondering if yourself or enyone on this drug have experienced this xx
Hi,
Iāve been taking ropinirole for a year now and recently needed to adjust the time of day for taking them so I was late taking them by 8 hours and my legs became very shaky and I found it a bit alarming but after taking the next dose of ropinirole everything calmed down again.
It just shows how bad my legs would be if I wasnāt on the medication.
Hope this is of some help to you,
Dawn
Hi Anna have been on Ropinirole since 2010 when i first found out that i had pd yes I have missed a dose, but gave a call to Parkinsonās UK and the nurse addvised me not to take exter just take your next dose as normal, if at any time you are worried give Parkinsonās UK a ring, the other things that you mention could be that master PD is trying to take over your body try and stay positive, donāt forget PD does not go from day to day but hour to hour.
