Having listened to the podcast “sex and Parkinson’s I’d be interested to hear your experiences on this taboo subject
not sure what that podcast is about (i never listen to podcasts), but one benefit of the PD diagnosis is that my GP set up a sildenafil repeat prescription for me on the NHS instead of me having to pay for a private prescription like i did before the official diagnosis.
sadly, this is one of the many things PD causes trouble with.
Men’s sexual health is a vital part of overall wellness, involving more than just sexual performance. It includes libido, fertility, erectile function, and emotional intimacy. men’s health experience sexual issues at some point in life, often due to stress, poor lifestyle habits, hormonal imbalances, or underlying medical conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, or obesity.
Erectile dysfunction (ED), low testosterone, and premature ejaculation are among the most common concerns. While these conditions can feel isolating or embarrassing, they are treatable and often reversible. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle—regular exercise, balanced nutrition, adequate sleep, and avoiding smoking or excessive alcohol—can significantly improve sexual health.
Mental health also plays a major role. Anxiety, depression, or relationship stress can decrease sexual desire and performance. In many cases, talking openly with a partner or seeking professional therapy can lead to meaningful improvements.
Routine check-ups with a doctor are important, especially as men age. Early detection of issues like low testosterone or prostate problems can prevent more serious complications later.
Sexual health shouldn’t be ignored or stigmatized. Prioritizing it leads to better confidence, stronger relationships, and a more satisfying quality of life—physically, emotionally, and mentally.
