Sickness

Hello mine is a bit of a strange one I have been on the same medication for over two years and I take my tablets more or less the same time every morning but when I’m working, I get to work and I’m usually sick and then I’m okay after that. I’m fine when I’m at home I’m not sick at all. I don’t even feel nauseous obviously work getting a bit worried about me and my morning sickness. I wondered if anybody else has the same thing.

Hi, @Friday. Welcome back to the forum!

It sounds like you’re going through a tough time, and it’s understandable that you’re feeling concerned about the nausea you’re experiencing at work. It’s great that you’re reaching out to see if others have experienced something similar.

What you’re describing may be related to your medication. Sometimes, certain environments or routines can affect how our bodies respond to medications - like stress, changes in activity levels, or even the different pace of the day at work. It might be helpful to speak with your Parkinson’s nurse or GP to see if there’s any way to adjust your medication, timing, or even meal planning to avoid nausea in the morning.

Please know that you can also call our free, confidential helpline for support and advice: 0808 800 0303. Our trained experts and specialist nurses are on hand anytime between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and 10am and 1pm on Saturdays.

Take care of yourself, and I hope you’re able to find a solution soon :blue_heart:

My science teacher at school used to have a favourite saying… Correlation doesn’t mean causation. The fact that this always happens on work days doesn’t necessarily mean that it is connected to your work.

Is anything else the same on work days but different on days off? Amount of sleep or wake up time? Breakfast? Exercise? Eating before or after medication or resting before or after?

If you can think of things other than work that are the same on work days but different when you are off, You could try adapting those one at a time to see if it has any effect?
