Starting Rasagiline

Yes, I could feel really guilty. According to the British National Formulary, the net price of, say, Sinemet + is about £10/100. i don't take levodopa, so don't know how long 100 would last; at  six a day, that's about £20/month which I'd say was damn cheap for restoring someone's functionality. Pramipexole (the generic DA) weighs in around £15/month, maybe £20.

But Azilect is £70/month (and I take both Pramipexole and Azilect). The rival MAO-B, selegiline, doesn't get talked about so much - but that's much cheaper at about £17/month.

If I wanted to feel really, really guilty, I'd recollect my Neuro started me on the branded DA, Mirapexin . . . £277 a month! (I know some people need it as they don't get the benefits from the generic, all generics not being created equal).

Money warning: These costs are comparative, as they've all come from the same source but I've no idea how real they are - ie, I don't know how much a pharmacy actually pays for them.
