Taking a controlleddrug to italy

Hello everyone, just a quickie, am off to Italy in the week, but just noted that Lorazapem (a controlled drug that is prescribed to me is actually illegal in Italy. Help!! Anxiety through roof, do I declare it or not? Will they take them off me if I do? Anyone got experience of taking a controlled drug through Customs, where it is deemed illegal in Italy? If not, no need to reply No!!! Thanking you in advance x

Hi LittleMixWorry

Not sure about Italy because I have never been but we have taken controlled drugs through Customs in other countries, without any issues. Just make sure its in original packaging and you have the repeat prescription paperwork. If you are still concerned you can get your GP to write a letter saying you are prescribed it but the GP may charge you for the letter. So far in all our trips nothing has been said about the pills in our hand baggage but we have the paperwork to cover us if something is said.
