Trihexyphenidyl

I was diagnosed with PD three years ago. I resisted any medication for two and a half years but finally decided to take meds because of my arm tremor. I was not suffering any other significant PD symptoms.

My consultant prescribed Sinemet which until recently I was taking 8 tabs per day.(12.5mg/50mg).

Over the period of six months I did not see any significant improvement to my tremor. With the approval of the consultant I have now stopped taking Sinemet. The tremor is a little worse but otherwise I am well.

The Consultant has now recommended Trihexyphenidyl.

I have read some nasty things about this drug online, including that NHS Scotland does not recommend it.

Does anyone have experience of this drug an its effects?

Any help or advice would be appreciated before I make a decision.

Thank you.
