Is it the same kind o thing as holding a mug of tea and just as you've got it to yr mouth yor hand does a big twitch and the tea spills? This is happening to h more and more. I just thought it was what they call dyskenesias and if its upsetting its worth telling neuro about? i think it is to do with having lots of levadopa. but then I am not the neuro . good luch sunray
hi i spose it is in a way ,never thought of it like that, cus usually it the hole of me rite leg,i thought first it was meds wearin off, then i thought was it cus i was so tired and just membody actin this way ,this afternoon i went to my freinds bunglow to have cuppa and mince pies with some other pd members of my group,it was lovley ,when i holdin the cup me hand shakes anyway ,but i got up off the chair, leanin on me too sticks and leg gave way ,big twitch and leg went.i was so embarrssed, people sayin dont worry ,we are all in the same boat, but i nocked the cup over on the table and had some tea in the botom and it went on her white linin table cloth,i really wish i could just walk straight and not wobble all over the place.we had a chat about this twitch thing goin on and there was another lady in the group who also had the problem ,she said it was dyskenisia, but im still goin to have chat with me neuro about it.but thankyou for your reply sunray and if i find out the real reason for this twitch goin on ,i shall post it on this thread,so u no to.x
Do you get it when in a relaxed position . It happens to my husband when he is in bed and also when he switches off in the armchair he will wake up suddenly jumping/jerking . You might find that your arm /hand will tremor until you actually grab hold of something then it will stop . it is called resting tremor

ooo johnnie, this is gettin harder, some one told me it was the above, now ur actually sayin does it do it when relaxed, yes it does, when got in bed rite leg does it when relaxed.but like i said it does in arm every so oftern then ihad this experance today from leg doin it when gettin up off the chair, but i guess i was relaxed cus of sitin down so long.only the neuro goin to be able to give straight answer i guess to this, sounds like it could be symtom of several things doin the same thing, bizzare but hey thats pd for ya.thanks for u=r reply ,and i will let u no wot neuro says x
I find it such a complex illness and many GPs don't seem to know a great deal about it . My husband was back and fore to the GP for 3 years with different symptons and it wasn't until the day I practically had to carry him in that the Gp recognised what it was when he asked my husband "why he was looking at him like that "
By then my husband s face was expressionless /blank . This has improved quite a lot with the help of Sinemet . I had even begun to wonder if he had had a small stroke or even a tumour..
I have found most of the information by googling . If a symton arises I just google it /Parkinsons . I get the answer most times .
It helps me cope and support my husband . Each time I go the the consultant I pass them a note with anything that worries me . They always find it useful and then I don't forget what I wanted to say or ramble on .. Which as you can tel I can do sometimes lol

u ramble away johnnie,u will never beat me for doin it ur hubby is one of a lucky man to have such a carin wifeeven if u did drag him to the drsbut the only way u will find things out is googlin, forums, and neuros, but some times like this twitch of mine there is different reasons which mimic other things which makes things harder to dx.
yes a bit like the chicken and the egg . Never sure if it the Parkinsons or general health . it can be a nightmare .
