Visual Hallucinations

Hi guys. I don’t even know why I’m making this post, I guess I just needed to share.

I was diagnosed with Young Onset PD about a year ago at 38 (I didn’t come as a shock as my maternal grandmother had it and I’ve been ill for a while). But last night I had my first visual hallucination. I know not everyone with PD gets them, but lots of people do. My Nan had them so it’s something I was aware of.

But the reality isn’t what I had expected. It was a horrible experience. I saw a Spider on the wall and thought it was weird, it was particularly thick/dark. I’m not scared of Spiders so I didn’t really fuss and looked away. I looked back a few seconds later and it was gone.

I suddenly realised it was never really there. I think in my subconscious I knew it wasn’t real which is what made me look back. It was not like a Spider I’d seen before. The realisation I’d seen something that wasn’t real really hit me and I went into a sort of shock and burst into tears. I don’t think I’ve ever cried that much before.

It took me a while to calm down and realise it was somewhat normal with the condition. But it hasn’t stopped me feeling how I’m feeling. I’m not even sure what that is.

I think i just needed to say it out loud. I’m not even sure if I’m supposed to tell my consultant or anything. Thank you for listening.

Hello AlwaysSmile … I have had amazingly real dreams due to Parkinson’s medication or the Beta Blockers I take. If you want to buy a white horse [that isn’t real] let me know.

Best wishes

She sees dogs and other animals in blankets… to her there really there… to me I keep saying there not real… but she will not believe me,.

I have been having visual hallucinations for many years, first one was a little boy in the corner of my bedroom who just stared at me, every night he would appear, and I was very frightened by it but I tried talking to him but no answer, then he disappeared and in his place was a man, although I couldn’t see his face, he would stand at the bottom of my bed and over the months he moved to the side of the bed and then he was in bed with me. I was totally scared and I eventually saw a NHS pysciatrist who put me on anti pyshcotic tablets and after altering them a few times I never saw the man again, also I was having a lot of daytime hallucinations where I would see just a glimpse of someone going past me in the house sometimes I thought my husband had just walked past and I started talking to him but he wasn’t even in the house which freaked me out. I have got used to the daytime hallucinations, I know that they aren’t real, I have been offered more anti psychotic tablets but I already take a lot of tablets for my Parkinsons’s as well as anti-depressants as I suffer with depression now. I want you to tell your Neurologist or the Nurse about it and they will be able to help you.

My wifes are different every week , once I was having an orgy in the front room , we had a fisherman, but most of all it’s 2 girls these seem to be her niece’s and she asks me things like not to go into the bathroom as there getting changed or she’s feeding them , or she runs out into the road looking for them … I say there not real … but to her that are . Its very hard .
She has also had olfactory hallucinations smelling smoke and other things.
That drove me nuts . But these have subsided some what . I was wondering it it FND …
Been trying to get an appointment with our local PD department, even today… just getting excuses for one reason or another …
