Waking up with anxietry

Recently, I have started a pattern on going to bed early around 9pm

(I admit to drinking wine).

I then wake around 1am in fear and anxiety, and sweating.. I almost vomited last night.

I have some stress in my life - quite minor really about building work in my house.

I had similar night episodes over the years, related to my jobs and accepting job moves. Havent had one of these eposodes for five years.

My question - is this common in Parkinsons?

I have contacted my Parkinsons nursing service.

ps. I suspect that I engineer stressful issues by dragging my feet - my mum called me ‘sliddery;.

But when it gets to waking in anxiety states it goes too far.

Hello,

Have you tried staying off alcohol for a week or so? Then seeing how you feel? My neurologist (and neurologists in general) are increasingly in favour of leaving alcohol out of your life for good. Not just for Parkinson’s patients but everyone. It may seem extreme but alcohol free life is excellent for the brain, weight and blood sugar levels. Anxiety may decrease and eventually dissipate. David Eagleman one of the current top neuroscientists never drinks alcohol.

Just a thought.

Best wishes,

Alex
