Evening Jane … Sorry to hear you are having a tough time. I suggest giving the Parkinson’s nurses here a ring and have a chat with them.

Seeing no one after a diagnosis four months ago is too long a wait.

I am 71 & was diagnosed 2 years ago. Like you I am on co-careldopa. I find this drug excellent. I am also on Rasagiline for Parkinson’s.

You do not say what dose you are on.

In the Past I have had many falls and I cannot walk far.

Best wishes

Hi Jane you’re not along, I find this forum very helpful.

I advise going back to your doctor to discuss your problem to see if they can increase your drugs or give you something else. Also keep in regular touch with your doctor don’t wait for them to contact you.

I also called the Parkinsons nurse for help when I was in a bad place. since speaking to her I went back to my doctor and got the drugs increased, they also give me an 24 hour patch to ware which is now helping and controlling the symptoms.

Hi, I spoke to the Parkinsons Nurse about the increase in tremor I was experiencing and she arranged for an increase in the number of tablets I needed. I didn’t have to see a doctor which saved time .

I hear you—it sounds really tough dealing with frequent falls and feeling unsafe, especially when your confidence and mental health are being affected. It’s understandable to feel frustrated if your current medication, co-darelopa, isn’t helping enough.

When you see your neurologist in February, there are a few possibilities they might consider:

Hi Jane,
There are therapies that have been shown to help.

Keto diet or intermittent fasting for example ,
There are videos on YouTube on diet and pd.

I believe also nicotine patch has been shown to be neuro protective, I believe Dr Clarke has videos on pd that may explain this and his evidence using EEG .

Photobiomodulation using redlight is another modality that you can explore on YouTube.

These topics are an examples of adjunct therapies that have proven success.

There are also new drugs in the pipeline that show promise.

Don’t be too depressed there are things you can do to help yourself.

Keep researching and see what you find.

Hi JaneJKT, my husband has to be careful not to get dehydrated which leads to low blood pressure and then possibly falls. If blood pressure low, drink water and lie with feet raised.
