My son has just been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and he can’t come to terms with it
We don’t know who to turn to for help
Hello Jeff,
Welcome to our community forum. We can certainly understand what you both are feeling, and we will not minimize it, but we can assure you that you are not alone, and here on the forum you are amongst people who have been there and, as you should soon see, are happy to share their stories and wisdom with you.
We also wish to inform you of the tools we offer to help you both understand what Parkinson’s is and at least to some degree what you can expect. Have a look at our website at Parkinsons.org.uk when you can, where you will find answers to many of your questions, along with research news, fundraising events, and archived forum discussions on a range of easily searchable subjects. And if you would like to speak with a friendly and highly knowledgeable advisor, please reach out to our free and confidential helpline on 0808 800 0303.
There are loads of people out there who want to help.
With our warmest welcome,
Jason

Hi Geoff 1963
Sorry to hear your news about your son. It does take time to get your head around a PD diagnosis.
Found speaking to others with PD does help, be it on this website, there are also local support groups in many areas as well and also find the Michael J Fox website useful too.
There are also a few podcasts that are good movers and shakers and two parkies in a pod.
Thanks
Change his focus to research what helps PD, I find information on YouTube.
These videos include red light therapy for pc, keto diet , intermittent fasting and a array of interesting subjects.
Hi Jeff963,
How old is your son and when was he diagnosed.
The answers will help us with suggestions.
