Worried about MSA

I have been diagnosed with Parkinsonism in August last year but am worried about MSA as I have bad Orthostatic Hypotension. My MRI scan was clear. Does this mean I cant have MSA? Thanks

Hello Rob28 and thanks for sharing this.

Our friendly community may be able to offer you some advise but we would strongly recommend speaking to your GP with your concerns to get a full medical opinion.

All the best

MSA is a type of Aytipical Parkinsonism. A clear MRI does not mean that you do not have MSA

Thanks. I have spoken to a nurse who advises me there is nothing to suggest MSA at this stage but I am at a very early stage of parkinsonism.

Did you receive a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease or Atypical Parkinsonism. If the latter then you would generally have one of about 5 problems.

I was just told Parkinsonism. Positive Datscan and negative MRI.
