YOPD and Birmingham

Hello,

This is my first post.

Is there anyone with early onset/YOPD around North Birmingham / Sutton Coldfield ?

Could really do with some local support as feeling very isolated and scared right now.

RM

Hi RM,
If you go onto the Information and Support section on the Parkinson’s UK site and scroll to the bottom of the page you will find a post for local support. You type in your post code and it will tell you everything available near you.
I am sure you will find something there. Has you PD nurse not advised you? They are usually very supportive.
Please don’t be scared, you are not alone.

Take care
Annie

Hi RM,

Welcome to the community. Sorry to hear you’re feeling isolated and unsupported right now. As AMU said below - you can use our website to search for support groups in your area:

https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/information-and-support/our-support-services

We’d also recommend you get in touch with our Helpline, as they’ll be able to advise you further on this. You can reach them via email at [email protected], or call free on 0808 800 0303. Lines are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm, and on Saturday from 10am-2pm.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Hi there,

Firstly I want to say I don’t have a diagnosis of PD currently but I am under the care of a neurologist and due to my family history and symptoms, PD has been mentioned, hence I’m lurking around on here. Feel free to have a read of my situation if you can find my post re facial masking.

I suspect we live quite close to each other so I’m happy to have a chat sometime if you’d like. I totally understand if you’d prefer to speak to people who are diagnosed though.

Best Wishes
