hi shelly it will be esa as consired now unfit for work following pip, after you claim then you will be able to get into support group, its the same have to send docs of and pics ,they will decide whether assessment or not i would think not good luck.
Hi Guys.,
I am on the work related group of ESA, I have an assessment on the 2nd May, My PD support worker has said she will come with me because she said I should def be on the support group now.
She said she is going to make sure I get switched over, Bless her she is lovely but a formidable force when she gets going I reckon.
I feel a lot better after reading the link you posted Shelly because what I said and the way my husband kept saying about the exhaustion and that he had to take over from me, ties in with doing things to an acceptable standard, If my husband has to do it then I am not doing it to an acceptable standard.
So thanks Shelly I do feel a bit better about it now because although there are some things I think could of gone better. We did say quite a few of the right things, So maybe I get the lower rate I am sort of confident because we did seem to say the right things.
Will let you know how it goes

Good luck with the ESA Shelly you should have no problems.xxxxxx
Hi Gus
Thanks , so when i claim esa will i need to get a doctors note and if i send all the pics i have and maybe the pip report , i know it is probably Atos that will do the assessment but hopefully they will have enough info from what i send in to not have to have a assessment , i did read on a different forum that if you are awarded enhanced mobility then you are automatically put into support group don't know how true it is
Candy
Glad it helped , try not to worry to much as you say if you get standard rate you can always go for the higher rate when things become more difficult and you know what to expect next time around so can prepare better
hi shelly, i was at work when i went on esa had to get sick letters ,but a friend of mine was on high dla also i was on high dla .you go on esa with sick letter and on the 12,13 week you can claim to go in support group & no its not automatically this process takes about 8weeks i think your pdsw will help ! sorry minds not so good
Hi Shelly,
Are Atos still going, I heard that their contract had been pulled?
They did my assessment for ESA but got feeling they have gone, So it will be Capita again probably.
I could be wrong but I am sure they have been disbanded.
Regards Candyxxx
Thanks Gus its all so confusing
Candy
I know that Atos have lost the contracts or are losing them so i dont know if it will indeed be Capita taking over i think there was some talk of G4 possibly tendering for them , if it is Capita i may well get the same assessor .... note to self make sure i am not wearing a bra on assessment day
no probs shelly going in support group gives you a little bit more money & you do have to attend work focused interviews .
Hi All
I thought the idea of all these benefit reforms was to save money. So why does Shelly have to go for another assessment for ESA surely that could have ben done at the last assessment it would simplify things surely. Question are you going to be claiming ESA yes well this assesment will suffice for that claim I will put it in your notes the DWP will have this back with them by next pancake tuesday you just fill in the ESA claim paperwork simples.........sqeek
That made laugh , but yes Paul it is very frustrating , i think the reason another assessment is required is because on one hand we have Capita who did my PIP assessment but it was Atos who do the ESA assessments not sure who who will be doing the ESA assessment now though but i will still try to use my pip report as evidence for ESA ..here we go again another 30 week wait
Talking of PIP any news on your claim Paul ?, i would give them a call it has been a few weeks now i would have thought your reports would have been done now .
I rang the dwp shelly they said the paper work was still with atos after 19 days. so what to do now its like a game of chess the agony of choice I think I will do the MP move check mate atos or should I say adios atos
Hi All,
I was told when I phoned that it takes at least 6 to 8 weeks for the DWP to get the report from the assessor, Then another 2 to 3 weeks for the decision to be made.
I told them that my assessor told me that DWP would have it within a couple of days, The man on the phone said they didnt know what they were talking about and thats how long it takes on average.
Yes Paul it would be much easier to get claims processed if ESA could use PIP reports and vice wersa,
But DWP do not do simple I am afraid!
Best Wishes
Candy xxxx
dwp always say give it 28days then phone i think patience is a virtual ! give it time
My assessment was done 6th March my reports were done and back with DWP on the 13th March and a decision made on the 25th March , mine must have been done really quick . They told me about 6 weeks but it was done in 3 weeeks
Well even if it does take 6 weeks at least you know the end is in sight not to much longer now
Good luck Paul and Candy xx
do you reckon shelly yours was done quicker because of the bad press !
Yes , i think so Gus , damage limitation on there part
yeh i reckon feeling a bit better now ! it stresses you out if pd isn't enough
Any news Candy ?
Hi there Shelly,
Well the DWP have now recieved the report from the assessor and they have scanned it, Have been told it will take about three weeks to come to a decision.
How are you getting on with your ESA claim? Hope its going well.
I will be in touch when I have more news, They told me to try phoning next week as there is a chance they will have come to a decision before the three weeks.
I still dont have a lot of hope of being accepted though, But my PD support worker says she will help me to appeal if I am turned down.
I hope you are keeping as well as posible and I will be in touch soon
Love and best wishes Candy xxxxxx
