good luck candy
Hi Gus,
Thanks I will update when I have phoned DWP tomorrow, Not hopeful of any news, Or any good news for that matter.
Best Wishes,
Candy.xx
just remember your worse day & even when you phone up say ,i might be a bit slow talking as i have parkinsons ! keep fighting gus
Good luck Paul and Candy
Do not give up i have read quite a few cases where people have gone to tribunal and miraculously they never had to go because the dwp decision makers looked at the claim and awarded benefit so keep fighting both and keep us informed xx
Yes good point shelly I mean going to tribunal costs a lot of money and I would think any self respecting judge or doctor on the panel would be quite put out by a person with PD standing before them and if common sense ruled saying to the dwp why dont you do your job properley and give people the correct benefit for there progressive condition.Hang on I just saw a pig flying past my window welcome to the muppets show starring dwp..........................Paul
Hi Guys,
Spent 20 mins on hold to DWP about my manditory consideration, When I did get through I was told polietly that the computers were down and they should be up within the hour.
Ok fair enough not anyones fault these thing happen, Left it 2 hours before trying again, So here we go spent 30 mins on hold only to be told that the computers were still down!! And not to phone till tomorrow!!
Now I dont know about anyone else but why not put a recorded message on as soon as you connect to the DWP telling you that the computers are down.
I wasted however much it costs and my time twice, Its not rocket science but if they did that I am sure that it would save them a mouthful from some very annoyed people.
I wasnt rude but you can bet some people were. So I am stillin the dark as how my claim is getting on.
I will try tomorrow if I can get past the thousands who will also be trying after the farce that went on today.
A slightly miffed Candy.xx
That's just typical Candy. The world revolves around computers now and when one goes down they all go down! I think it's just a ploy, because the DWP are getting inundated and they can't handle the pace or the agro it's getting too much for them. They will all be down with stress and then they will be putting there own claims in, and guess what, I bet THEY don't have to wait as long for an answer, they will be all classed as valid claims! GOOD LUCK!!!!
Sheffy x
Sounds a bit like the passport office , they cant handle the delays in getting peoples passports out due to staff shortages so there going on strike , i had to take my son from Birmingham to Liverpool so he got his passport in time for his holiday , maybe thats dwp problem staff shortages ? , simple answer Mr Duncan Smith there are millions on the dole
Hi All
Its starting to get me down properly now as there just making it up as they go along> I just rang to say its now 9 weeks that I have been waiting for a decision and was told we aim for 9 weeks but it can take longer I was told its a maximum of 9 weeks so they have moved the goal posts. I said what happens now we will get someone to phone you within here we go again 5 working days to update you.
I am only 50 as luck would have it but imagine if someone is in there 70's they could die waiting for a decision I have worked all my life prior to PD and this is the most disgusting thing of modern times its shameful and unnecessary I don't normally believe in privatisation but this department is crying out for it and they would have to be better than this or they would not make a profit I wonder how many people are employed on pip reconsideration i would love to know is it one or two do you think.I feel for people who are say making a new claim today they have along road ahead of them............Paul
Hi Guys,
I agree Paul they keep moving the goal posts to suit themselves, I was told that it only takes a couple of weeks to get a decision on a Manditory Reconsideration.
That was in the middle of June and we are now almost in August.
I had an interesting chat with my nurse today, She told me that someone had told her that the people from Atos and Capita get commission for every claim that they manage to under score.
In other words they are lining their own pockets for underscoring the sick and disabled so that the DWP can turn down their PIP claims.
If this is true that is disgusting and completely shameful.
It wouldnt surprise me at all if this was true, I hope that comes out one day and everyone who has been turned down when they should of been accepted gets compensation.
Candyxxxx
If thats true its disgusting but i bet it is Candy old saying theres no smoke without fire i also note when they say there going to ring you back they always want to ring the landline you know why that is so we have to sit in all day you cant even go for a walk and thats why they do it ...............miserable...............Paul
Hi Guys,
I phoned today and was told that My reconsideration would take another 3 weeks to process, I asked how long ago it was submitted and she said 6 weeks.
So 6 and 3 make 9, Yes I am being made to wait the full 9 weeks as well. it is truly awful.
Any news yet Paul??
Candyxxxx
Hi Candy
I rang this morning to be told that there was still no reconsideration so I stated on the phone thatl decision had taken 26 weeks and now another 9 weeks to be fair the lady was apologetic. so I pushed it a litle further and said how long did she think i would wait I said at this rate I would be dead and buried before a decision.Again she was very apologetic. I have spoken to some real horrible people at the dwp but i dont lose my rag i just table a question but some speak to you like there doing you a favour. S having put the phone down I went back through my MP like I did for the orignal decision. I received an email back My case was recived in the department on 19th of June i sent it in on the 28th of May it was looked at by a case manager on the 24th of July who raised some concerns it was then checked by a quality manger (so they say) and has been sent back to atos as soon as they hear back from atos they will move to reconsideration how long will that be well how long is a piece of string H ow can they treat prople like this especially disabled people Ill be glad to see the back end of 2014 what a battle for a couple of extra quid a week so I can live with dignity.................Paul
Hi Paul,
It is so disgusting the way they treat us, We are not second class citizens we are decent human beings and we didnt ask to be stricken down with this terrible condition.
I phoned today to let them know a change of circumstances. My Parkinsons has caused me to lose my appetite and I have lost a considerable amount of weight. My dietician has advised me to have a feeding tube.
I phoned to inform them, It seems wrong to use it as a money spinning device but it is extra evidence of a deterioration.
So he has made a note of it on the computer and my dietician will be doing a supporting letter for me to send. I dont know if it will help towards my reconsideration but we shall see.
Best wishes Candy.xxxx
HHi Candy
Any extra evidence all helps but it beggars belief that we have to go through all this the actual condition is so debillitatinghould not have to prove your not well its like being on trial, I was out and before to the corner shop its a maximum of 600 yards I had to stop 3 times due to pain in my hips and legs its made me feel quite low tonight if I am honest if I do get a decision im my favour I am going to have to buy a mobility scooter because walking is completely out of the question these days. I hope you gone on all right Candy keep in touch hun and I hope you feel a lot better soon and thank you for sharing again........................Paul
Hi Paul,
I am so sorry to hear that your mobility isnt very good, Mine is not brilliant and I often have to use my stick,
I agree it is like being on trial, Proving how sick you are is very undignified and it is just not right.
If they do take this new evidence into account I will have enough points to qualify for the living component at least.
But they will see that and probably do everything they can not to award me the extra points.
It is shameful that we are treated like this, We are going to win this Paul, Try to stay positive and I will too, We are entitled to this and we will get it.
I hope you get your decision soon and if its not good fight with all your strength, They cannot persecute the sick and disabled like this.
Keep the faith and I will let you know how I get on, Please do the same, We will come through this in the end they will see that they have picked on the wrong people, we are not going to lie down and let them win.
Keep fighting
Candyxxxxxx
Hi Guys
Can't believe it is so much trouble to apply and get a final decision to come through from the DWP, they are obviously condemning the wrong people to a life of misery and stress and not checking properly on the people who make false claims when they were easy to get years ago, and are still getting those benefits.
I first applied 19th April 2014 and have heard nothing since, going by how many weeks it is taking I reckon I should hear something by October, what's the reckoning then!!
Sheffy
Hi Sheffy,
As you can see from the fight Paul and I are going through its not easy, I hope you are accepted without going throught the misery of the Manditory Reconsideration.
I do agree that all the fraud has made it so difficult for the genuine to get the help they need.
Just keep in mind when you get your assessment to tell the assessor how you are on your worst days, Dont be intimidated and make sure you get everything across that you need to say.
Good luck and keep us informed on your progress.
Best wishes Candyxxxxx
Hi Candy
Thanks will do, hope beyond all hope you and Paul get some sort of satisfaction soon and that the right decision is made, so good luck. Sorry to hear about your added problem with your eating x
Take care!
Sheffy x
Hi Guys
So sorry to hear of the problems you are having Candy and Paul, it is beyond belief how they treat people, why are they subjecting the sick and disabled to these assessments when all the dwp are doing is ignoring what the assessors are saying and making there own decisions as to how our condition affects us , after all dwp decision makers are not medically qualified so what right do they have to ignore medical evidence , it is all about money saving and it seems that if you have scored points that are border line then they do all they can to find something in the report where they can take points off you absolutely disgraceful , my pip claim was stressful enough but i now have that de javu feeling that my esa will be the same , i phoned Atos last week and was told my papers were with a medical assessor but they had no idea how long i would wait as there is a backlog
Chin up guys don't give up and keep fighting xx
