Hi Visionvalue

Yea it must have all kicked off round about the same time, I've got mine till 2018, so don't know what the difference is between your husbands claim and mine, but hey-ho we are lucky we got through without the hassle of an assessment.

Take Care

Sheffy

Well done Sheffy I am pleased common sense apperars to be winning through

I am still waiting for my decision you may remember i filled in a new complete pip 2 how your disability affects you form well i have had a letter from atos saying my case has been passsed to them and I may have to go for assessment or maybe not given the fact that I am currently receiving enhanced daily living (but no mobility) and I have already had an assessment last april to get the original award my case seems to going crab likeor even backwards I just wish it was more straight forward getting really weird now..............Paul

I went for a  tos assessment first thing this morning.

The bloke doing the assessment was carrying it out as if he was on my side, but i wasn't fooled by it, i told him too one question he asked  that he was trying make up a picture of my daily life that doesn't exist,

the whole building layout is designed too fail you, from the moment you go in too the moment you leave by pushing a button too get out of it, on the back of the examination door it says '17 metre's too waiting room' he walked in front of me from the waiting room too the xamination room i cant walk fast i take small shuffling steps.

at the end of the interview he said he would support my claim 100%, I Dont believe that for a second.

Hi Paul and Sea angler

Thanks for your posts,

I would have had to go to Capita for my assessment, I don't know who made my final decision in the end it just came through the post from DWP. Having said that I did first apply in February 2013 and was turned down saying 'that I didn't need enough help' then I re-applied in April this year and got through, mind you the decision made for how long you have your benefit for can differ, I have mine till September 2018 then someone else on the forum only has theirs till 2017, which I thought was strange. So according to that does it mean that my parkinsons symptoms are going to last till 2018 and then dissappear??? The mind boggles!!

Wish you both luck in getting your final decisions.

Regards Sheffy x

Common sense .....maybe not , i have a ongoing esa claim i am in my 18th week and still no news from Atos as to when i can expect any sort of a decision all they say is it is with the medical assessor  we cant tell if it is in the backlog or being dealt with ok fine , today is a different story dwp stupidity strikes again i phoned them last week to enquire when my medical certificate ran out  , i was duly informed  it runs out on the 6th October and i would be fine for my payment due today the 7th October ...No esa today phoned up dwp and was told my medical certificate was 1 day short of the two week period , to which i replied i was in a no win situation because my doctor will not issue a certificate till the day the last one runs out  which was the 6th October  with all the will in the world there is no way my certificate could have got to them in time  they are deliberatley setting us up to fail

My pip award was till 2018 to well done sheffy and i hope everything went ok with the assessment sea angler

1 day you would think they would use discretion knowing that you had sent in another certificate to arrive today the 7th of October Have they agreed to pay you and confirmed they have received your new certificate ?

The mind boggles I wonder if they think we wont pay this fortnights money and with a bit of luck the claiment (sometimes called a customer by the dwp as I found out yesterday) wont notice its not in the bank  I do wonder.

The world of benefits is deliberatelly designed to make it hard to put us all off and if you dont know your way around or you say sod it you get nothing no wonder people go to advice centres for representation because go it alone as I have found out and it will drag on and on

Good luck Shelly hope its sorted today for you...............Paul

Shelly

I've had a few problems with the 'medical certs' or 'fit notes' in the past, the dwp will very often send a letter asking for another one knowing that it will not get too them within the date shown, our royal mail doesnt work that fast on 2nd class mail, it's bullying tatic's trying too get a cert within 3 days and delivered too them as well not locally but too birmingham.

On One occasion i went down too my surgury first thing too enquire about getting one done too get it in the post asking the receptionist, the manager came through and said i was acting illeagally infront of all the other staff and patients stateing the same as you have that it cannot be signed/issued till the day the last one runs out.

But, if you read the letter it always quite clearly says "please send us another mediical certificate by xxx date"  it doesnt say signed by date of last day of cert, when i pointed this out too the surgery manager/practice partner and the audiance of patients  listening in I insisted it was the government asking for this not myself, they quickly backed down and there hasn't been a problem since.

My Doctor only issued the certificate yesterday so there was no way i could get it to them , i phoned them last week and was told  that the esa is sent out to my bank on thursday whilst my med cert was still active , so dwp must have looked and thought we will stop that payment because my med cert runs out the day before my payment goes into bank  , the guy on the phone said this morning that i had to be covered for the two weeks to get my esa

No paul they wont receive the certificate today it takes 7 working days to go through there mail system , i assume i will not receive the esa till the dwp receive my med cert which they say can take 7 working days

I agree Sea Angler  the system is set up so we are bound to fail and not meet there deadlines , i had a letter saying they needed a new medical certificate by the 7th October which is today , but they already stopped my esa payment last thursday  whilst my note was still active

Luckily my gp is understanding and has issued me with a med cert for 6 months

i do not understand my gp can sign a 3 month or 6month i think when i was on esa ! And if mine ran out on the 1st she would date next one for 2nd !

What a joke

This morning in the post ( 9th october ) i received a letter from dwp dated the 7th October  informing me my medical certificate is due to run out on the 7th October and i need to get a new one to them by the 8th October or my esa will be stopped

dwp  already stopped my esa because i was told on the phone my medical certificate ran out on the 6th  and  it needed to cover me till the 7th to get my payment  on the 7th , what the hell is going on , they are deliberately setting people up to fail  talk about confused.com

I Think i'm about too get some of the same shelly

I had my assessment on the 6th,

my cert run's out on the 15th next weds(next pay day)

I'll bet any money the "Decision Maker" at the dwp will not have made a decision by wed's and a new request will turn up for a 'fit note'.

HI all

So there still messing you about Shelly now saying you need to send another certificate in when you already have.

That rings a few bells with me remember a few weeks ago they said they had not received my new pip 2 form the lengh of which I would liken to a skakespearen play

Well I rang up and when he checked the sytem somebody had forgotton to press a button to say it had been received its with atos now and next month will be 12 months since I originally claimed and the mobility is still not sorted the actual original award for daily living only lasts until 2015 October so I am never going to be free of paperwork at this rate.

I assume by looking at your post sea angler that if you are placed in the support group you dont need to send in anymore fit notes/medical certs is that correct only I have all that to come when I apply for esa when my medical retirement from work is finally sorted....................

hi ya

i have just looked around the web, it seems if your placed in either work group or support group then you dont need a 'fit note'.

i think it would be a miricle if i was placed in the support group so best i can hope for is the work group, just hope they are quick about it, but prob not.

when you get too applying for e.s.a get your local d.i.a.l or disability advice service too help you fill out your forms they are really clued up.

your right  there you do not need a fit note when youve been placed ,but while there making a decision you need up to date sick note, also your parkinsons support worker will fill out your forms, maybe a bit better as they understand pd a lot more.hope i didnt sound bad sea angler!

I wish someone rich enough would sue the DWP and win. Maybe then all the no win, no fee boys, would have the confidence to get involved and expose them publicly in court.. It's a hidden disgrace.

Even if you get back dated, they save money, while those who are suffering, suffer more.

I doubt they will help the present government get re elected.

It makes my blood boil Shelly.

Not at all gus

I would be interested where you find these support workers, as support is and will be what i'll really need in the future, i have been reffered too a parkinsons nurse, but i doubt thats the same thing??.

i've seen the word's 'support worker' bounded about within P.UK's website but that is a dead end it seems.

Hi sea angler

To find your nearest support worker in the parkinson page go on 'support for you ' the go in 'support in your area' in the blue box then type in your postcode, it should then tell who your support worker is.

Good luck

Sheffy

 hi shefinn

i tried that it just takes you too a text page with no names or contact detail's,

on another page it lists the parkinson nurse and local groups.

i also put in my gf's postcode in 50 miles away, I guess there's just a gap in suffolk.

Earlier i also searched my local gp practice's website, not one mention of parkinsons within the whole website it serves 80 square miles i highly doubt i am the only PD sufferer within it.

Would you mind sending me your postcode and i'll give it a go for you if it's ok with you

Sheffy

It  really annoyed me Saturn  as i had already phoned up last week and asked if i was covered  for this payment  i was told yes your payment leaves us  today , so i phoned on Tuesday and questioned my missing payment and was told that my sick nbote was one day short for me to get the fortnightly payment on the 7th  October , my note apparanlty ran out on the 6th so some jobsworth has looked and thought we can stop the payment  because of that one day which is what they did , in the mail today i get a letter dated the 7th October  saying my sick note runs out on the 7th i need to get a new note to them by the 8th , today is the 9th ,  and if my sick note was valid till the 7th why was my payment stopped in the first place because i was supposed to receive my esa on the 7th  they make the rules up as they go along
