Decisions decisions i may have to think about that Paul

Well done Paul, glad you got the eventual decision and a good one at that!

Best wishes

Sheffy

Congrats Paul on your victory

I am not fussy on Rossies Gus he had a go at me once for parking my car outside his shop while i was unlloading my cases. I was only going to be a minute or two just getting my luggage in to the guest house next door to his shop.

Of course that was when I still had a license seems like along time ago now.

Nice to hear from all of you on the board try to keep as well as you can Candy is quiet hope she is ok.................Paul

oh dear ! there still the best ice cream

Just got yet another PIP decision this time for my second PIP form the so called unplanned intervention aka reporting a change of circumstances. I am very happy to be able to write that I have now had my points adjusted and I am on enhanced for both components daily living and mobility. Its been along battle but its been worth it in the end. Also I have an ongoing award the decision maker has put in letter she has given me the longest award she could as she does not expect my condition to improve. They can review my award anytime but ongoing is usually 10 years.

Thank you all once again these boards and reading others experiences has really helped me to persue to get the right decision good luck to you all dont give up................Paul

thats great news i bet you feel alot better now.all the best  merrry xmas

am i right in saying your get £552.20 month pip / dla i get middle care high mobility £444.80 thats £ 110 more ! just had a look on gov site & my dla will change 2015 or later . im not saying my condition is worse than yours paul but have had pd 13yrs also have dbs 44 tablets a day ,do  you think it is worth me getting re assesed also have back two crumpling disc & right hand of spine degenerative, driving licence re-voked also, maybe its worrth having a  word with my support worker .

The thing is Gus eventually you will have to come off DLA to go on to PIP so this will happen. But the thing about assessments now is they dont always do one if the medical evidence and supporting documentation is compelling and "paints a picture" for the health care provider ATOS or Capita usually and the decision maker as well.

They have to look at cases better especially with life long proggressive illness's as the time to progress claims was not getting shorter was getting worse all the time

Some of the best advice you gave me Gus was to keep all specialist letters letters from nurses doctors occupational therapists and to send copys of all of them in which I did so for the second change of circumstances aka unplanned intervention they never assessed me again just went on written evidence. They would have had a hard job reaching a different conclusion with me.

Yes your correct Gus it is £552.20 and you could certainly have a word with your support worker, strangely enough I also have diabetes and two crushed discs in my spine as well and impingement on the L5 nerve which is what causes pain in my legs when I walk to the extent I have to stop good luck Gus keep in touch let us all know how you get on. If I make it down to Weymouth next year we will have to have a bevvy Gus that would be good..................Paul

yeh that would be could to catch up ! my support worker said to me when we were applying for esa that i would never have a problem with pip as she said i would make enough points just filling out halve the forms i have never had a face to face assesement my paperwork as always been enough ! are you on gabapentin for nerve pain im on the max dose gp said it would be injections next but already have epidural & bilet lumbers nnot to mention the 75mg amitripyline tablets  !  tablets ! it dose work the photos of meds & paperwork because then they cant call you a liar.sun out only for that beer ! i have to lay of the tramadol that day not a good mix! great talking again.

So pleased for you Paul. I got the full payment also but they only awarded it till 2017. They obviously think that parkinsons is not for life, and expect me to miraculously recover! Either that or I will have reached my 65 birthday by then, and you can't actually apply for benefits after 65. So could that be the end of it all or would they reassess me, the mind boggles!

Sheffy

Hi Sheffy

If you are on PIP already as your case when you reach 65 you can carrry on claiming it as far as I am aware. Its a different thing if your over 65 and not had PIP before then you claim attendance allowance.

I have had gabapentin Gus when I had sciatica last year not an easy medication to take you have to be careful with it yes good idea regarding tramodol does not mix with the pop having said that I am only talking about a couple of pints not a marathon session doing boogie boogie lol................Paul

hi paul,no no last time i got drunk was 7yrs ago when i was not coming to terms with pd ,all i do now is if i get back in a corner by wife & kids to go birthday party etc is couple of half cider shandys i do miss the friday nights out with the lads tho 1 two left feet me to boogie lol

Thanks for reply Paul I will wait with baited breath to see what the conclusion will be. I applied for a disabled

parking badge and that also expires in 2017!
