Dla

I do not have a printer at home so i had to go  to local library  to photocopy everything  and  shop to print pictures It cost me   nearly £10 to photo copy everything and then get pictures printed  oh well at least it was freepost to send them back to Capita  / Dwpeye roll

when ever i send anything to atos/dwp i do it recorded delivery so they cant say they did not get it ! its not worth losing all them docs in post.

Hi Shelly65 and Gus,

update on my PIP claim  i phoned Capita this morning my reports have been finalised and were sent to DWP  on the 13th March so now i wait for DWP to give a yes or no decision , hopefully wont be to long

when i had my paperwork sent to dwp,,i phoned and they gave me date when money was going in bank.got my new fibre broadband connected today ITS FAST AND THEY SAY IT WILL GET FASTER smile

DWP are saying it is not on there system yet  they have to receive a hard copy from Capita through the mail  so that can take a week to get on the systems  so i am told

my sons have just upgraded our broadband  big grini don't think it is as fast as the provider claims but it is fast .

You got to keep your router turned on for 10days & they reckon when they have found the best connection it will get faster hmm wait and see .Did you know i was told  not to phone atos/dwp because they say if you can use a phone then you can work as a cold caller /switchboard .Thats why when i start a conversation with them i always say i have pd & trouble with my speech as i do.Just a tip!

I am with VM  for my broadband , i will remember that tip if i ever get assessed for esa . thanks Gus

Hi there guys,

I received a letter from Capita today, It was just to say that they would be sending me an appointment soon for a home assessment, It used to be Atos in this area but now they have pulled the plug I guess Capita have taken over.

Shelly65, Did you get a letter informing you that an appointment was going to be sent to you? Well at least I know I am on their system, The letter told me what to expect and that I could have someone with me. I am really pleased that your claim looks like it is almost sorted, Let us know how you get on, I will let you guys know when I get my appt,

                                        Take care all,

                                            Candyxxxxxxxlol

Hi Candy

No i originally had a letter telling me to log on to there website to book a clinic appointment  but there were none available then my mobility got worse  and i was offered a home visit , my mp phoned them up  in February to complain and a few days later Capita phoned me with a appointment and just sent a confirmation of the appointment through the post

I have mixed feelings about Capita doing my report so quickly should i be happy or worried  it was done within a week of my assessment , but they did say the assessor did a very detailed report so maybe it contained everything they needed to finalise things  and given the added pressure  of the MP and my pending story to the Mirror , we will see what the decision is but one thing for sure if it is not in my favour i will appeal .

It would be a good idea to have someone with you , not so much Capita but i have read storys of Atos changing what people have said to them in there reports .

Good luck Candy i hope you get a appointment soon , it does seem that Capita are finally getting there act together maybe they are hoping to get the rest of the contract from Atos ,

Shelly xxx

Hi Shelly,

I would not worry that your assessment was done quickly, I hope it is a good sign and that they could see straight away that you are in genuine need, Maybe the ones they are unsure about take longer.

I will have someone with me and my CPN said she would attend if she could, I can also ask my PD nurse if she is able to attend. If they give you a copy of the report they would be very unwise to change what was said, You would surely be in a position to sue them as it is a legal document.

I will let you know when I get my appt, I really hope that you get some good news soon. It is hard enough coping with PD without all the extra stress when at the end of the day you are claiming something you are perfectly entitled to.

                                                 Good Luck and keep positive,

                                                        love Candybig grinxx

Thanks Candy

You could also try the Parkinson support worker for your area maybe they could be there on your appointment worth a try ,i am dreading having to go through all this again  as if i get a award i then have to claim esa frown

Hi Shelly,

Yes good idea about getting my support worker to attend if she is able to. Don`t worry to much about claiming ESA, Compared to what you have just gone through its a doddle! I claim ESA and it was a fairly east process, I saw an assessor but my payments had already started, Unless they have changed it, I found it quite easy to apply for and its certainly far easier that this PIP fiasco!

                                                    Good Luck,

                                                      Candyxxxxxxxxxx

hi candy, are you in the support group on esa,

Hi Candy

Thanks for the advice , do you have a copy of the assessment report from your esa claim ?  surely you could send that in as evidence for your pip claim, if you have had a recent assessment for esa and send the report to Capita surely  there may be a chance you will not need a pip assessment as they could use the esa assessment ? worth a try  might speed things up for you , i would ring Capita and ask them .

Hi Shelly,

I was never given A copy of my assessment report for my ESA claim, Mind you back then it was Atos who conducted the assessment, Say no more!

I think I will still need an assessment for PIP, They are different benefits and I think that they have to conduct their own assessments.

Hi there Gus

Yes I claim supoort group ESA. Well Shelly you may hear any day now, They prob have made a decision already, Mind you whats to decide, If someone with PD gets turned down and someone with a bad back gets accepted, I am not be- littling bad backs just comparing seriosness of the two conditions, Then this country really has one mad.

Keep in touch and let us know decision,

                                                   Keep the faith
