Problems posting

Hi, I'm very, very new to this site, i was wanting to go on the forum and maybe post a message, thing is, I've tried clicking the 'new post' but to no avail! What am I doing wrong?

Jan

Hi Jan25 and welcome to the forum,

If you would like to start a new thread to introduce yourself and tell the community a little bit about you, the easiest way is probably to navigate to the section of the forum you'd like to start a new thread in, like for example Introductions and personal stories (https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/forum/introductions-and-personal-stories) and then click on the "New topic" button you will find at the top-left. Then you'll just need to type in a title for your new thread, write your post and click the "Post" button when you're done. You should see your new thread appear in your chosen area of the forum.

If you want to add a message to an existing thread you can do so by replying to a particular post - clicking the "Reply" link under a post - or by replying to the whole thread - writing your message in the "Add new comment" box at the very bottom.

I hope that makes sense, but if you give it a go and it doesn't work please let us know exactly what you would like to do, which steps you followed and the error message you got so we can get to the bottom of the issue and you can post as you wish.

Best wishes,

Mara

Hi  Sheila

Thank you for telling me what to do

I am not up to early today i see that your often up early

Do you sleep in the day to make up for it ?

How long have you had parkinsons and do you live in the Uk?

I live in guernsey.

I hope you dont mind me asking a few questions

Have you had a lot of stress in your life? I have and my husband think there could well be a link to Parkinsons.

I have have other health problems since April last year and i have been unable to go to zumba which i love and miss and i really would like to get back to it.

The specialist who i Saw said i would so i am holding him to that

Lovely to talk to you

Love from Theresa

I just need to talk to people when i wake up early

I am sure there are a lot of other people who awake in the night

I awoke at 5-30 this morning it could have been a lot worse

I tried to get back to sleep but i could not get comfortable

I usually do craft work which often relaxes me and takes my mind off things.

What do other people do when they cant sleep i would be very interested to know.

I am going to do some craft work now i just have to decide what to make and what to make it with so i will sign off for now

I hope someone nice replies

Love Theresa

Hello there Dickey Bird

im not always up early but sometimes on here after I've finished a late shift at midnight because it's not always easy to switch off and get to sleep.

what crafts do you do? I normally enjoy a bit of cardmaking but have lost my mo jo at the moment but will hopefully get back to it shortly.i find like you it takes your mind off other issues and you focus totally on what you're doing.

Lovely to meet you on here so to speak. Happy crafting!

Hi Lexi255 / Sue

Thanks for replying to my post,

I am so glad u dont wake up too early

I do all sorts of craft work i started off making cards but then i moved onto painting and decorating wooden hearts and then i started to make thngs out of felt and then fabric.

I really enjoy it it helps me to relax and stops me getting bored if i wake early

I often make things for friends and family.

I really hope you get your mo jo back soon.

Take care

Love theresa

Hi Theresa

Wish i had your talent.i cant sleep I get back up early hours. I read or watch tv.

My tremors are bad so dont think i could do what you do.

Well done you.!

Best wishes xx

Theresa, sounds like you have a busy time of it. I do enjoy doing the cards when I get into it. Mind you, my little room needs a huge blitz and tidy up before I do any more!!

Glasgow Girl, I bet you'd enjoy it. Good to have something to focus on. Doesn't matter how long it takes.  I'm not a needlework fan so do mainly the cardmaking. Wish I'd paid more attention in needlework class at school. My teacher used to send me back to re do my tacking stitches!!! No hope!!

What on earth has happened to the site?

I can't find anything! I have clicked for about 10 minutes to find the forum and post!

What a disaster!

Is it just me?

GG

Couldn't find my post...it doesn't appear in active topics.

Buried away somewhere.

I give up!
